Up for auction is a Toyota Corona RT81 1971. The vehicle has been garaged for the past 5 years. The vehicle starts and drives but will need a battery. Engine is the standard 12R with a collum shift auto and bench seats at the front. All electrics and internal dash are working. Apholstry is what would be expected for its age and has its tears etc.
The body isn't to bad considering its 49 years old but has its dents, scratches and slight damage to the front left as per photograph. I've checked underneath and can't see any noticeable rust, as per photo the boot lining is lifted and it appears to be surface rust only. The engine has an extremely slow oil leak possibly from the sump, the rear diff also dropped small drops of oil but slowly.
Other than this I don't know much more, I purchased the car 5 years ago and with a vehicle permit drove it home from Altona when it was transported from NSW by truck.
I had intentions to restore the car with a Toyota 3RZ engine. In the last 5 years, I've only seen one in similar condition for sale as they are becoming extremely rare. I am yet to see one on the road. If your looking for one this opportunity may not come up again. The car is as good as it gets for something original in the muscle car era.
Vehicle is located in Derrimut 17kms west of Melbourne CBD.
