2008 Subaru WRX Impreza with Sports-tech (improved sound system) and winter package (heated seats and heated front windshield wipers). I purchased the car 2 years ago and made the following repairs: front and rear brakes, over $2500 in underside repairs (front and back sway bars link, struct assembly, tie rods, stabilizers, control arms, front suspension struts), new battery, new snow tires (on rims, has majority of thread left). Previous owner replaced the turbo and inter-cooler about 5 years ago.
Mileage is 199,000 km (123,652 miles); manual transmission. This WRX is super fun to drive; with all the repairs made to the suspension and struts, it corners like it is on rails. Yes, there are some minor rust spots, and I do have touch up paint from the previous owner. I have continued the regular maintenance, as with the previous owner. Oil changes with full synthetic oil. Unfortunately, I have to sell this car because I am downsizing to my Eurovan and I cannot maintain two cars. On 29-Sep-20 at 16:22:23 EDT, seller added the following information:Yes, this car is older (over 12 years in age) and many of the regular maintenance is due (250,000 km) and yes, there is minor damage (from previous owner) on the front. I would have kept this car and was about to sell my euorvan, truthfully. However, I can only keep one. Truly, it is heart-breaking to sell this car, but I figure, I would rather have someone enjoy this vehicle because putting her into storage would destroy her over time.
I have put this WRX through its paces. In my time in the Ottawa area, there are some nice turns around the area and this car  handles whatever you throw at it like a charm - dry, wet, slippery, snowing, you name it. This car likes to be driven. This car drives the way you expect cars are supposed to perform. And when I say, "I've put it through its paces", I really mean it. Do you love to shift? 1-2-3-4-5? Yup, she can take it. My question is, can you? Trust me. You should have a strong heart when you drive her. 2 years later? The thrill is still there for me.
I have (amateur) detailed this car, spending close to 6 hours by hand, cleaning the door jams etc. Yes, there is wear and tear on the carpeting but the body is in solid shape. I can detect little to no rust in and around the door jams. This is the same, more or less, on the outside body as well. During my ownership of the last 2 years, I have applied the winter undercoating every year, and I believe the previous owner did the same; he owned it for about 5 years.
If I kept this car, I would have invested another $5k to $6k. An engine rebuild is probably due (that is the reality of any old car you are looking at), and a dealer gave me an estimate of $1k to fix the front bumper. $13k to $14k for a world class rally car that will last you for another 10 years, easily?
And btw, *this* car ... The classic Suburu rally car look with the black top...I get compliments all the time... from other drivers.
