This is a scary and dangerous car. :) Giving a wild amount of fan Lotus Elise S1 1998 release. The most common modification. 120 l. With. Of the delights, only the Momo steering wheel, removable as in the Formula, and the Koni LTS (Lotus Sport) adjustable suspension. Mileage so far is 18500 miles. A pure Englishman with a right-hand drive.
My old first impressions.
First sensations.
On Saturday for the first time I rode Lizka fully around the city. Feelings are the most pleasant. Especially not annealingal. I got used to it. Firstly, I am absolutely used to the right steering wheel, and to the switch with my left hand. Something easy and simple. I don't get distracted by them anymore. I'm driving on the machine.
I even found the advantage of right-hand drive. :) It's easier and more convenient to embroider in the right rows. It’s very clear whether someone is standing there or not :), the ride turns out much faster, despite the fact that I have never accelerated more than 110-120.
Taxiing itself is an extraordinary pleasure. In principle, it can be carried out in a very relaxed way, without excessiveher ardor. The engine is pulling. Once I accidentally stuck the fourth instead of the second, turned, pressed the gas, and the car flooded. By the way, making a mistake with the gears in order to crunch the box is almost unrealistic. Switch clarity is amazing. True, I also found a certain problem - when you turn on the second hand, it somehow rests very strongly against the sidewall of the bucket, moved back a little. It has become easier, but still not quite as we would like.
Rulitsya - to say that it is sharp - to say nothing. The first hatch that I xhotel to bypass the rearrangement came out lumpy — I almost ran into him, because I spun the steering wheel a little in advance, and sent back a little in advance, as on all machines before the Lotus. Well, I almost returned to it :), I had to taxi again. He performed my actions so instantly that I simply did not expect. There were no banks, withdrawals and delays, too. Feeling of unreality. Then he began to choose the trajectory ahead of time, since the hatches from a distance of a meter from the ground can be seen very well and in advance - after all, you are going almostnot on a par with them.
I discovered an unpleasant feature of our roads, which I had not noticed until now - more than half of all hatches on the road are located in the middle of a huge square asphalt patch, which is a centimeter, or even several, higher than roadbed. Riding a Lotus over them is a pleasure. :) Speed bumps manage to pass at 10 km/h. More is too uncomfortable. At high speed, flying over them is completely scary. You go, and in front of you is a sort of hulkmelts.:)
I was returning from the traffic police with the roof off, got a complete crazy buzz! :) On the way to the traffic police, already in Strogino, I found that the speedometer scale was digitized in miles, and in small numbers in km per hour . So all the time before, when I slowed down in front of the traffic cops, I was driving not 70-80, but a hundred and a half :)
The reaction of the people at traffic lights is interesting. Cars in the next row do not drive forward, but stop in front of me, closely studying me from above. :)
In general, the conclusion is simple. In the city on Lotus ezyou can and should eat. And it does not present any difficulties. The right hand drive does not annoy either. Emotions over the edge. But I'm tired :), the muscles work at some unusual angles. After the trip, calves and hands ached. Still need to get used to it. The car is great.:)
