I have had an aviator since April 2007, the car is from the USA. Prior to that, went to Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Of course, there is nothing much to compare - cars of different classes. As for the Aviator, I am very pleased with the car. I drove 10 thousand km / 65,000-75,000 /, I want to share my impressions.
First, I did maintenance - I replaced all the fluids, belts, although the opinion of the masters about the belts was unequivocal - they still look like. I also replaced the front brake discs - the car came from the USA with slightly driven discs, speeds above 100 km / h, a slight vibration was felt. Put new tires /mud+snow/ as summer tires, 275 /75/17. On such rubber, the car looks generally not very bad, the ground clearance is higher. But at the maximum turn of the steering wheel, it slightly - just a little bit - touches the fender liner, well, you need to add 15% of the speed to the speedometer readings.
Fuel consumption - 18 / highway / - 24 / city, heat, traffic jam /. For such a mass and a brutal number of horses - it is quite acceptable. With regards to reliabilityand - I didn’t have such horrors as the owner of the car who left a review here. The reasons may be different. As for spare parts, it’s definitely not expensive, because the Ford Explorer running base is all in stock.
Comfort - 5+, especially pleased with the seat ventilation. Handling - as in a car, the car sensitively obeys the steering wheel. There is no need to talk about the "male" appearance, this is clear at first sight. Respect on the road, no one is rude, and I myself am not rude, I try to observeth rules.
In terms of off-road performance - of course this machine is not designed for specific dirt. But it can drive through mud of medium concentration and depth of about 30-40 cm - I tried it. When overcoming a small ditch, I managed to cope with a diagonal overhang - the rear left-front right wheel. I did not dare to more severe tests - stupid and expensive!
Good luck to everyone!
