Owner Reviews

The car was purchased in connection with the need for frequent long-distance trips on roads with not very good surface quality and transportation of materials for finishing and construction work of a country house. Initially, as usual, I did not even think specifically about this model. Ford Maverick, Ford Escape, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50, Mazda Tribute, Mitsubishi Outlander, Jeep Compass, Jeep Liberty, Chrysler Pacifica were considered. In general, it has been revised a lot of cars, a lot of salons. Made a lot of test-drives. And some cars were too cramped. Some are expensive to maintain. Some were too overwhelmed. Here, as usual, I saw a couple of TrailBlazer cars on the site. I knew they were, but I had never thought much about them before (like the Tahoe and others like that). Well, there were not the best specimens on the site (to put it mildly), and the service from our used car dealers is very specific. The case itself is good, but as usual, the approach to business spoils everything. And eventually inthere are problems in communication between the client and the seller. And problems in the perception of the industry as a whole (secondary market and organizations "working" in this direction). Well, perhaps some companies have problems because this is not their main direction and management does not pay due attention. And others have problems from focusing on a quick income without working with a client and working out distant prospects and their own image in the market (uncertainty, incompetence, and all that). No qualitiesmanagement in general.

About the car. Bought at the wrong time - the crisis. Watched a lot of different cars of this model, different years and configurations. Basically, we have common engines with 4, 2 in-line six-cylinder and 5, 3 V-shaped eight. The eight-cylinder engine has its plus in the form of the ability to turn off part of the cylinders on the go when driving at low speeds, which saves fuel. Well, in general, a colleague has the same one too. Advised, found out how and whathe did during the operation. As a general impression and all that. In general, the person is happy and this has been going on for more than a year. So on reflection decided to take such a friend in the family. They began to look fundamentally with a leather interior (LTZ versions). These cars are sold poorly due to the fact that the average tax in Russia is about 40-45 thousand rubles, but the price on the secondary market allows you to get a completely good configuration and characteristics of a car that is superior in level to many more expensive carscrossover cars and not to mention SUVs. LTZ versions are distributed mainly in two variants in Russia, either with a sunroof or with a TV and DVD in the ceiling for rear passengers. I like the hatch somehow (more light, more air). We took a TrailBlazer (Atlas LL8 Vortec 4200 - 6 cylinders) in 2006 in the LTZ configuration with a mileage of about 85,000 km.

The interior is spacious. There is a lot of space in front. Behind, too, in general enough. Visually behind two are fullx seats (well, this is how the sofa looks like - it is already in the middle, I think this is because of the tunnel in the floor and a little protruding air conditioning and back row music control console). By the way, yes, the back row can listen to its music separately from the driver and front passenger (radio and CD). So, despite the shape of the sofa, three standard-sized adults are normally accommodated behind. And even four (checked and even drove pretty well and everyone is happy, despite the fact that people are not the thinnest ;) ). outsideThe external view of the cabin is far from the concept of modern, but quite cozy and comfortable in terms of operation. For the driver, everything is at hand, the instruments are perfectly readable. The only thing is the alarm button is located on top of the steering column (it may not be possible to thank in the accepted manner on the go). And the control of lighting devices and the wiper is grouped on one handle under the steering wheel on the left side. This is due to the fact that despite the fact that our version is Europeanized with a selectorThe automatic transmission is between the front seats, but in the USA the automatic transmission lever is located under the steering wheel on the right and apparently GM did not move the automatic transmission lever to its European position to adapt the steering column. I’m really used to it and I don’t feel any inconvenience from this (it’s only inconvenient if you change to another car every day). And when I was driving after the purchase for the first time driving myself, a curious situation arose. It started to rain and then I realized that I have no idea how to turn on the windshield washersa (on the go it was difficult to figure it out, at first I turned on the rear one, but after taking a closer look at the left steering column switch, I still thought that I had to push the petal away from myself and everything worked out). By the way, there is a car with completely identical characteristics all one to one, but which, I am sure, will appeal to many especially picky motorists. There are switches on both sides and an automatic transmission handle, and a dashboard front panel that is more pleasant for many in terms of design. This car is Scandinavianat TrailBlazer - SAAB 9-7x, it is built on the same platform from General Motors GMT360. In general, TrailBlazer has many brothers: ISUZU Ascender, Oldsmobile Bravada, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, there are also extended versions bearing the same name with the addition of EXT (with a slightly higher roof at the rear of the car).

Personally, everything suits me in terms of the organization of the interior space and interior design. It looks quite organic and appropriate, and most importantly comfortable. I ride almost every day. Consumption incompletely normal for a car of this mass and with an engine of this volume (one might even say modest). From 12l/100km (on the highway) to 20l/100km when driving in heavy traffic jams.

Getting into the car is very convenient thanks to the step, which, by the way, many people swear at in reviews (because they cling to curbs and protruding objects). I don’t know about others, but nothing clings to me, although the car is not high and long enough (but the curb must also be quite large, so that for ithook on). Well, although the car belongs to the midsize (mid-size SUV), I see it more as an all-terrain wagon (and carrying capacity). A sort of family tractor medium size. The car is very functional with a large trunk and arches on the roof. It is very rare that you have to fold the rear seats (in most cases it is enough to fold one seat, a small section of the back). Very good soundproofing. Having lowered the glass, I noticed that sometimes when starting off on the rear-wheel drive, slipping comes off (the power reserve affects). Over time, I got used to starting and stopping softer, calmer. Machine for its size and weight is very dynamic and maneuverable. Most of the time I go to the rear wheel drive and satisfied. At the same time, the car is well-controlled and very passable (I'm not talking about wild gullies, but about a household broken-down roadbed or a bumpy country road). I turn on the rear-wheel drive mainly on slippery surfaces with an abundance of bumps (and I think that this could beo not to do if there is a better and fresher rubber). It is logical that at speed you should not enter sharp turns with such a mass and dimensions with poor quality of the roadway and slush. Heard a lot about strong skids. Once I felt it myself in a heavy downpour, but I was able to return the initial trajectory. You have to be careful with the gas and brake pedal too.

Spare wheel outside the bottom of the car. Many say that it is not convenient. I had free time and spent the exercises, in principle, everything is quite simple. I nIt didn’t get very dirty, no more than with any ordinary procedure for changing a wheel in the field. In general, normal - comfortable.

Conveniently opening rear door glass. Especially when you are shopping for a week and you need to put a bunch of bags of groceries in the trunk. After the movement, the bags can be relocated in the trunk and opening the tailgate there is a risk of dropping a couple of bags. When you open the glass, everything stays in place. Calmly stand on the stage of the rear bumper. bending overthrough the tailgate and carefully remove everything from the trunk without dropping anything. It’s also convenient, and if the car is parked close to something and there is no opportunity or desire to move it to get some useful trash (by the way, a large trunk provokes discipline - do not carry any rubbish in the trunk, because it will scatter) .

I noticed that the rear passengers, to put it mildly, sway a little when cornering. Apparently it is desirable for them, after all,be tagged ;) (as required by the rules of DD).

Despite the impressive dimensions, a very maneuverable car. Excellent road holding, bumps "like a speed bump" swallows, not particularly noticing them. The speed is not felt: 100 goes, but it seems to be barely dragging. 160 km/h - with ease, morepower reserve, just nowhere to ride. Oil does not "eat", a large gas tank is enough for 700-750 km. 3 adults can easily fit in the back seat, without any particular embarrassment. You can increase the luggage compartment by folding the rear seats (they fold 2 + 1, or as a whole).
