“Running but not registered. This car was registered and on the road until 2010. It had been tidied up but not fully restored. Since that time it has been in under cover storage. I believe it could be put on the road again without major works. Alternatively it would certainly be a good starting point for a full restoration. The car appears to be road worthy with lights etc. working. The VE Valiant Regal has had a disc brake/bearings upgrade done on front wheels using a Pentastar upgrade. Not sure if it uses Ford Falcon or Valiant rotors and calipers but you end up with 5x114.3mm PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) which is as per late model Valiant/Ford. The rear axle still uses the early Valiant PCD (5x4"). The rear axles really need to be converted. Alternatively I think there are wheels that will fit the two sizes of PCD. See images of front, back and boot floors; they're largely free of rust for the age of the car. There are some small areas of rust. Can send photos if you request them.”

Any Rust?Firstly, this car was bought by my daughter over ten year ago in its current state, but for the upgrade to the front brakes, and a new carburetor, so all other work/history I can only deduce from observation. The car had recently been painted by the previous owner. This was by no means a professional job but looked quite presentable. Some rust areas had been filled, probably to meet rego requirements. I just did a walk around and this is what I observed: Some of what appears to be surface rust of the right side of the engine bay. Some surface rust on inside of bonnetBubbling along bottom of rear left quarter panel (has been filled in past) Front right bottom quarter panel has been filledDoes it Run? Yes. I drove it about 1 km from the shed on our property to the garage where it is now. The car had been in the shed for five to eight years. I fitted a battery. Didn't drain the petrol or flush out etc. Some petrol in carb and it started. This is what I observed: The column gear change linkage needs adjusting so indicator is not quite rightRan rough for a while until warmed up - then it was okay - clean fuel might help!Brake pedal needs adjusting The engine seems fine. Sounds like a good tight motor to me. The battery doesn't go with the car - The old Fergie tractor wants it back! Please ask any questions! Happy to take more pics ...
Wikipedia Quotes from Chrysler Valiant (VE) The VE Valiant was larger than any previous Valiant model. Styling was based on that of the US Dodge Dart and Plymouth Valiant models with no body panels carried over from the VC Valiant. Also new in the VE range were dual-line brakes, double-sided safety wheel rims, front safety belts and power-assisted front disc brakes on V8 models. The Valiant VIP was offered for the first time, the new model featuring the V8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, front disc brakes and reclining front seats. A 145 bhp 225 cu in (3.7 L) Straight-six, a 160 bhp 225 cu in (3.7 L) "High Performance" Straight-six and a 195 bhp 273 cu in (4.5 L) V8 engine were available, the VE being the first series to be offered with a choice of three engines. Three speed manual and three-speed "Torque-Flite" automatic transmissions were offered. The V8 engine and automatic transmission were standard on the VIP. The VE Valiant was announced as the winner of the Wheels magazine Car of the Year award in January 1968. A total of 68,688 VE Valiants were built prior to its replacement by the VF Valiant range in March 1969.
