Owner description
VW Golf 2005 2.0 TDI for sale as spares or repair - engine still runs (see rev counter image). Current mileage is 121,434 and unlikely to change more than a mile or two. MOT has been extended due to covid to 25 January 2021.
I am selling my Golf primarily due to buying another car and so it is no longer needed. Its lived a bit of a life and has bodywork representative of living in a city centre.
I'm selling as spares or repair for a couple of non-terminal reasons:1. It's in need of a service and a bit of TLC,2. It's making a grinding sound from the rear area at low speed, not caused by braking. Happy to attempt to provide more description if required.3. Has a weird engine resonance near 2,000rpm which has happened ever since the head was replaced. It's a bit like kangarooing on the clutch and only happens at a very small band of rpm. I've never had any problems with it. 4. I thought the MOT had expired and I don't know if it would pass. Previous MOTs can be seen on the gov website.
Other issues: No spare wheel (space saver type), but there is a can of the tyre weld/foam stuff.Body work, see images. Corners of bumpers have scrapes, back bumper slightly popped out on one side, no wing mirror cover one side (never failed the MOT like it), rust on the front wing that's taped to pass MOT, scrape on front wing and a few others. I've tried to make sure the images cover the damage but my phone camera isn't the best. Small chip in windscreen.Could do with a good clean inside and out. Head was replaced follow a cam belt failure caused by a garage cocking up the cam belt replacement (2016)(failed after 1,500 miles due the cam belt pulley not being bolted in correctly). Note point 3 in the list above.
Good points:Engine (aside from the bits discussed above) has never caused any issues.Headlights are VW units and only a few years old.I've got most of the history/receipts since I bought it in 2014.
