2001 (51) Honda civic type r 151.000 miles Great little car, ive personally had the car for 4/5 years and it’s never missed a beat, amazing engine and an iconic piece of machinery. the car has covered over 151k and i’ve used it all over the country, easy to drive and not terrible on fuel. great on the motorway and always gets looks wherever it goes. the car has had recent: drivers side driveshaftboth front lower ball jointsnew front break padsfull exhaust system (cat included)oil/filter changed less than 1k agonew front tyres all of these parts have been fitted by myself so i don’t have paperwork from a garage, all the parts you can clearly see have been changed and have nothing to hide. i have mainly worked on the car but had it looked over at a local garage after i bought it, and it was in great shape.the car is 95% standard, only thing that i changed was the radio and the engine mounts (all three), they are the fast road option from hardrace. the exhaust is in great shape, the catalytic converters is very low miles and was replaced around 15k miles ago, at the same time the exhaust manifold was changed along with a genuine honda gasket.i had the car looked over at a garage when i bought it and had it serviced and the vtec oil strained replaced. always used quality oil and filters, suspension has no knocks or bangs again original honda parts.in my ownership the car has been mechanically faultless, been like a best friend to me. never abused or hammered around a track, has always been warmed up and cooled off after any trip made. upgraded bluetooth head unit and front and rear speakers. front anti roll drop links and steering ball joints have been replaced. brake and clutch reservoir cleaned with new good oil. front aluminium strut bar bad bits as many hondas go, there is a little corrosion behind the back bumper, the sills are still solid and not been crushed in any way, a little surface rust but rock solid.there is a strengthening bar behind the engine that has corrosion (picked up on last MOT), but recently it has rusted and pitted and has now snapped it two, this part is replaceable and it it held on with two bolts, it’s just a pain to get to (refer to picture). could do with getting the tracking redone, this was due to changing the suspension and has sent the tracking out. small dent in drivers side rear quarter, but this is very minor (it happened when i was moving house) the underside of the rear arches have surface corrosion but i haven’t seen it get any worse in my ownership (always kept clean and washed). underside of the car is very clean and original, i haven’t had anybody under seal the car to hide any rust so can be inspected without having to dig through undercoat. there is not much history with the car, only bits and pieces that i have done. i will try to find as much as i can though. front fog lights need replacing air con needs re gas as interior goes it is original, the seats have seen better days and the drivers side seat is ripped but this is due to age and use. there are some scuffs on the door cards and minor wear marks here and there. the car is probably due the timing chain changing again some time soon as it is a high mileage car it’s probably best to get that done as well. i’ve been as honest as i can be with the car, any inspection welcome, there maybe some little bits i’ve missed but nothing massive. please don’t hesitate to view the cars MOT history on the DVLA website. like i say, great little car, will be sad to see it go, been a real good car to me and like to call it my best friend, great for long road trips or just popping to the shops. price reflects all the bad points, can be seen anytime on weekends and anytime after 4pm on weekdays. it’s almost 20 years old and is one of the first ep3’s ever made, prefacelift models are very hard to come by. with a person who will look after it and sort the bits and bobs out, it will be a very sort after car. i’m sure the price of these will skyrocket someday soon and will be a modern classic in no time. email any questions. best to come view the car in person
