No expense spared, nothing half assed. The 1972 Short Bed Chevy is one of the most iconic trucks ever produced, and the attention to detail on this build is over the top. The truck is fully sorted. She’s ready to be enjoyed for generations to come. There are many details that the hard-core enthusiasts will notice. Examples like the refurbished chromed GM tilt column as opposed to an aftermarket option, as well as the highly desirable GM buddy seat. The quality of parts and high level of craftsmanship can be seen in the photos and will certainly be appreciated by the next owner. No surprises, no corners cut. A very reasonable reserve price on a truck that is certain to increase in value. Let’s jump into the details. This is a factory short bed, not a converted long bed. This truck was part of a high-end collection that was curated in Southern California. 7 of these 72 Cheyenne Supers were built during the late 90s and early 2000s. The other 6 have been placed with new owners all over the country and this truck that I am listing is the best of the bunch. It was taken down to bare metal and received a show stopping finish that turns heads everywhere. Countless hours went into the prep work. The paint was done 15 years ago but has always been stored in a climate-controlled building, under a cover, only seeing the light of day for car shows and Sunday drives. The red pops in the sun and goes to a deep tone in the shade that almost gives it a second identity. Mirror like clear is a pleasure to wipe down. All of the trim is in new condition. Glass and rubber are all perfect. Door handles and mirrors are perfect. All the gaps are excellent, door and tailgate operation is smooth as could be. Door hardware including striker plates and posts are all either stainless or chromed. No detail overlooked. Inside the cab the attention to detail continues. First thing you notice is the GM buddy seat with new upholstery. Nothing cooler than red houndstooth pattern on a black seat. The buddy seat in itself is remarkable. Seating for 3, easy access storage, and a comfy armrest. Inside the console is a premium stereo, and speakers are hidden in the door panels, you wouldn’t know they were there unless you really look hard. I am 6’3 and fit in the truck comfortably. Dash is perfect. Every detail. Factory Tach, Vacuum gauge, all components work as they should. Every knob, switch, and lever are in better than new condition. Headliner is perfect, dome light works as it should. High quality carpet, custom floor mats, dash cover and seat belts for 3. Door cards are perfect. She even smells new inside. No detail overlooked. Factory AC will need recharge, I will try to get to it before auction ends. All HVAC controls work excellent, compressor kicks on, heat is hot, fan blows hard, selector switch has positive engagement points, no slop. The steering wheel is the perfect fit in the cab, a nice touch mounted on the chromed GM tilt column. Interior is a 10 out of 10. Under the hood we go. Hidden hood release behind the spectacular grille. The hood hinges are perfect, and operation is as smooth as could be. Chromed hood pin and latch are a nice touch. The power plant is the legendary small block 350. Lots of upgrades here. The engine bay is incredibly pleasing to the eye. Very sanitary and well sorted. Block was properly painted. Full rebuild was done using the best of the best components as to be expected on a build of this caliber. Polished aluminum intake under the edelbrock 4 barrel. New wiring harness from to back. Chrome details where they should be, no leaks to note. All gaskets are dry. ARP oil pan bolts were chromed. Radiator and trans cooler are excellent, not a dented fin to be seen. Chrome cover completes the look. She runs nice and cool. Coated exhaust, the rumble is smooth but not overbearing. You can have a conversation in the cab, but you’ll know it’s a built V8 when you put your foot in it. Very long glass packs are just breaking in. 3 speed auto transmission shifts very smooth. She will chirp in second gear if you ask her to. Her road manners are excellent. The suspension is all brand new, using only the highest quality components and hardware. All bushings and joints are new. Powder coated sway bar. The undercarriage is worthy of mirrors on the ground at the shows. Silky smooth power steering, one hand on the wheel and easy to park. Driveline is balanced and smooth. Power disc brakes up front are all new, and even have chrome backing plates. Tires have barely any miles on them but are older. I would replace before going on a road trip in the desert. Wheels are perfect.  With an older paint job there are a few flaws worth noting, but nothing that I feel needs immediate attention. The driver side outer rocker has some blems under the paint. Its below the sight line and nothing I felt was needed to replace at this time. Paint is easily matched if you want to replace or repair what’s on it. A couple tiny blems in tailgate that I couldn’t really capture on camera. Not noticeable unless you are really looking. It’s an older build, and she runs great, I would suggest next owner do general tune up to take to next level. It doesn’t need anything as it sits, as all components are basically new or rebuilt.  All in all, she’s a great example of a well sorted C10. I have done my best to give a detailed description and I provided 160 pictures and video. If you have questions, please ASK! My cell is 760.822.02 Six Nine. Calls between 8am and 7pm PST please.
