Up for sale is a 1971 Datsun 510 4 Door. California Car, original paint, no rust. Car has extensive modifications including an engine swap, haltech efi system, full race suspension, racing fuel cell, STI diff upgrade, cv axle swap, stainless header, exhaust, recaro sr3 seats. Suspension is 3T rear coil overs, s14 fronts. Disc brake 280z front swap, s14 rear disc. Engine is an Sr20VE built motor mated to an S14 5 speed transmission. Maddat engine mount for the sr20 engine also on vehicle.
This car was originally built about 10 years ago in california. The motor is an sr20det engine block with a twin cam VVL head from the VE series sr20's. Car starts right up, pulls hard, shifts great. Oil pressure @ 60 psi cold, 20 psi once warmed up, Modern day drivetrain in a classic old school package. The PO wet sanded the original paint and clear coated it with satin. I purchased and refinished a set of 280Z wheels, pictured on the car. Also comes with a set SSR longchamp XR4's that were imported from japan to keep everything nostalgic. Will go with the car.
Interior requires attention. I have few new parts and pieces - carpet, headliner kit, molding, trim, window felts etc, but it needs a full interior - car is is driven currently, but interior would really make this car more civilized. . Wiring - car could use some attention - I have a collection of new marker lights/lenses, front lamps, but the original wiring is in the car. It has been through a couple PO's that have made repairs/modifications as needed. main harness from the Haltech to the engine is newer and in good shape, most of the more simple body harnesses should be upgraded.
Everything works, except the overhead interior lamp. Undercarriage - car could use cleaned up and repsrayed with undercoating.
This is a very rare, highly desirable car for someone who wants to put some time into a resto mod nostalgic japanese car. You will not see another car like this come up for sale on the east coast, guaranteed. I had plans to take it to the next level but just dont have the bond with this vehicle required to see it through.
