I am selling my 1970 Datsun 1600 project as I currently have too many other projects on the go, and now wish to downsize my collection. The car is sold on an As Is condition, without RWC or Registration. Chassis/Body Number: P510 [hidden information]    Engine Number: L20B [hidden information]AThe car starts, runs and stops and is in good condition for its age, however as with any older car project, it will need some finishing off to be a presentable little car for RWC and Registration. Refer below for details.Body: Overall the car has a good, solid body with no rust in the floors, sills, roof, boot or engine bay. However it will need some minor panel work completed before painting, such as a few small dents repaired and rust repaired at the bottom of the right hand rear guard and a couple of small bubbles appearing at the lower edge of the front and rear screens. The original paint colour is Sahara Beige, however the exterior panels have been painted in etch primer to reveal any imperfections. Included are 2 front doors and a RHS front guard which have been professionally prepared and painted in Ford Octane orange, which was the colour I had intended to paint it. The Buyer can obviously choose their own colour or continue with the orange paint scheme. The front chin spoiler is from a VW Golf Gti and I think it suits the car. The bumpers and chrome work are in good condition for their age.The windows in the car are in good condition for their age. Note: The windows were removed from the rear doors when the doors were prepared for painting. The windows and mechanisms come with the car and will need refitting. Also included are NOS grill eyebrows and a NOS bonnet chrome trim, plus new side badges, new aerial, NOS side indicators and new rear tail light lenses, rubber seals and light housings.Interior: The car has new carpet (however no underlay), original 1600 rear seat and front seats from a 260C coupe, all in excellent condition. The door cards are Japanese model spec with carpet the at the bottom and proper arm rests (still to be fitted), also included are new window winders, new interior door handles and new kick panels. The console is a bit of a mystery, however is apparently from another Datsun model, and suits the car. The dash is neat and clean, and includes a tacho, and also supplied is an immaculate dash pad to replace the original cracked one. The headlining is original and has a couple of small splits and a few stains here and there. A fussy buyer may opt to replace the headlining when painting the car.Engine/Driveline Etc: The car has a L20 motor, with U67 head and a 5 speed gearbox, with a standard shift pattern (Not Dogleg). The motor has had some mild performance upgrades, such as Hurricane headers, mild cam, and mild head work and a weber DGV carby. Overall the engine runs well and does not blow any smoke, however it would benefit from a tune up and a service. The choke is not fitted to the carby so it takes a bit of time to warm up. A manual choke kit is supplied and will need fitting. The car has a new heavy duty battery. The diff appears to be a standard 1600 diff, and includes 240Z ribbed brake drum hubs. The front struts appear to be standard 1600 items. Included are front and rear lowered King Springs and a Mad Dat steering box brace, which will need to be fitted. The wheels are Globe alloy mags, 15x6, which originally come from a Mitsubishi Sigma Turbo and they are in good condition, as are the 205/50/15 Kenda tyres. The pictures form part of the description of the car, however Ebay limits the number of photos you can upload, therefore I can text pics to interested buyers of any part of the car if required. Viewing of the car can be arranged by appointment in Hoppers Crossing VIC. I have tried to describe the car as best as I can, however please do not hesitate to contact me if you need further informationThis car is considered to be a great little project and is priced to sell with no reserve. Cash or Bank Deposit is the preferred payment method, or PayPal if the Buyer covers the fees. Buyer to arrange their own freight/transport.The car is advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
