The "Spitfire" is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranties expressed or implied.
I had purchased this Spitfire from an older Triumph enthusiast that had purchased it over 10 years ago for a local weekend driver. It was always used on the nicest of days and always garage stored. The Triumph had a light restoration which included new paint, new convertible top, new carpet. It was also fitted with a nice set of Alloy wheels with new tires. Tires have good tread but sidewalls show some cracking. The seats were redone at the same time. The Triumph had not been driven for the last several years and will now need some maintenance to make it a daily driver or weekend fun car. There are very few miles on the car since the restoration.
Mechanicallythe Triumph is in good condition. It starts easily with the pull of the choke. It runs good however the idle is too high Due to sitting in storage, the brakes are now dragging a bit especially in reverse gear. The clutch seems to work fine, but could benefit from fresh fluid and bleed. The steering has a bit of play.Has an aftermarket oil pressure gauge that shows very strong oil pressure at idle. Engine does not smoke.
Thebody is in excellent condition as shown in the pictures. The paint job is a "driver" quality and shows nicely. It does some have paint issues where the paint has lifted in several places. I will do my best to show them, but it is hard to see in the photos. The body is solid and does not have any dents. The floors are solid and show evidence of previous repairs. The Triumph does have rust at the rear valence where the exhaust bracket mounts. The lines of the early Spitfires are beautiful and the British Racing Green is one of the best colors.
Theinterioris in excellent original condition as detailed in the pictures. The carpet is relatively new. Original seats have been recovered and are in fantastic condition. Door panels are in nice condition. Dashboard/Gauges are all in good condition and correct. Still has the original factory "Triumph AM" radio. Unfortunately it does not work. The dash has a dash mat due to some cracks on top. The Spitfire still has the original "Triumph" pedal pads that show very little wear which indicates the miles are original. The glass also show the "Triumph" logo. Fitted with a nice period correct wood shift knob. Has stainless steel "Triumph" door threshold trim. Lastly, the Spitfire has the original "Triumph" key.
Has new convertible top that fits nicely. All snaps and attachments work as they should.
The new Alloy Wheels have correct "Triumph" Center caps.
**License plate not included.
I do not have a "buy it now" price, but would consider ending the auction early for a serious offer.
