The Ford Thunderbird was a rear wheel drive automobile was manufactured over eleven model generations from 1955 through 2005. The Thunderbird created a market niche that eventually became known as the personal luxury car.
The flashy 1957 Ford Thunderbird we have at Skyway Classics is in gorgeous red color with the two-tone red & white interior and the matching red Porthole hardtop.
Our T-Bird is powered by a 312 cubic inch Y-block V8 engine that was factory rated at 215 horsepower, which was the Thunderbird's standard engine, which is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
Ours has what looks like an all original engine compartment with all the factory correct hose, clamps, accessories as well as the factory correct 4-barrel carb.
It has the dress up kit with the correct Thunderbird finned valve the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission that shifts perfect. The engine also has a chrome air cleaner gets fresh air through the fully functional hood scoop.
The exhaust system is good and the chassis is as clean and detailed as the rest of the car which rides on 15â€³ body-color steel wheels with factory chrome wheel covers that wear a set of white stripe tires that look great.
It has had refurbishment of the radiator, replacement of ignition components, and an oil change has all been done.
