This auction is for a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. Was factory yellow with green side stripe, top and interior. It has been in storage a little over 50 years. I purchased it from a friend who got it from the original owners estate. Still has the 1966 Maine plates when it was last registered. The car is going to need a complete restoration but as we all know there are not many of these left out there. It is kind of a blank canvas as to what direction you want to go with it. Original power top car. Power top motor and ram still intact. Top bows and header are in perfect condition. The car still retains its original 235, 6 Cylinder Engine with 3 Speed Standard Transmission. The oil looks good and clean and the motor turns over fine. We did not try and start it as we will leave that up to the next owner. Obviously brakes are down from sitting so long. The over all body is in fairly solid shape with most rust pertaining to the lower rear quarters, left side of trunk pan and rear valance area. There is some rot on the left side and lower trunk gutter but we have original pieces cut from another car that can be welded in to repair. Someone somewhere down the line started sanding the car down in various places and left it bare. We took some primer and applied it to those areas so as to preserve the metal. Drivers door is rusted on the bottom with a patch panel. You can either repair the door or jusr replace it. There were two spots on the floor pans, one on the drivers side front as you get in and one on the passenger rear. They were patched with tin so we just cleaned up the areas and primed out the whole floor area. 90 % was very solid and if you welded in a correct panel in those places the floor pan would be just fine. Surprisinly on the underside all the braces are solid, frame is excellent just typical surface rust from sitting. The interior is original and mostly intact, missing the carpet and passenger door panel. I do have the trim and arm rest area from that panel. Most of the stainless trim was missing so we managed to round up as much as we could find locally and put them back on the car. I bought a set of skirts for it also. Bumpers will need to be rechromed or replaced. The grill teeth, front fender guards, front fender spears and one rocker panel molding are missing. I do have the other rocker molding. I also purchased a correct chrome ribbed glove box door, hood springs and a few other trinket items. Everything I have will be included. Definetly a worth while winter project. If you purchase the car and can not get it right away I can store it off to the side and tarp it at no charge. We do have an indoor storage facility around the corner from us that we can take it to but you would have to pay the charges. We will work with you any way we can. We have proper dealer transfer paperwork for a smooth transaction. If you need a title in your state we are willing to register the car for a transfereable registration which would be an additional cost of $200 should you need this service. We require a $500 non refundable deposit at auctions end and payment in full 3 days after. If you need any more info or pics please feel free to email or call us at 1[hidden information].
