Packard.1953 Clipper Deluxe.
Several years ago, I bought a 1953 Packard Caribbean at auction. It was from an estate and the bumpers and grille had been removed for rechroming, and were not with the car. I bought this beautiful 2 door clipper as a parts car for the Caribbean. I removed the show quality bumpers and grille to use on the Caribbean. I got a set of bumpers powdercoated for the Clipper and put on a really nice 52 “toothy” grille, witch bolts up but leaves holes showing where the 53 grille ears would go. I sold the Caribbean, and I was able to locate the original bumpers and grille for that car, so I still have the original bumpers and grille for this car. I’ll change the bumpers if I have time, otherwise they just go on the side. You get choice of the 52 toothy grille, or the original 53 grille. Again, I swap if I have time, or it might just go loose.
I found some history on the car, indicating that it was owned by a Denver attorney. It was restored in Arizona. I purchased and brought back to Denver. Western, dry-climate car.
I drove this car around a little, and it never needed a thing. Its got a frame mount fuel pump that is always on. I’d add a switch so you could use it just for starting. The only rust spot on the car is at the grille area on the right front fender. I’ll give you an extra set of fenders for the car if you want them. No paint, suface patina, but no rust holes. There’s a few paint chips on the car. Its not perfect, but its really nice, and fun to drive! You won’t be disappointed, but I’ll be sad to see it go. Should run, but I don't get back to the house until Nov 1...and then I have a house to sell.
This car is being offered for sale as part of a Living Estate Sale. I collected and restored cars in Denver for several years. Five years ago, I had twenty cars (and lots of parts) at my Lakewood CO home. I started spending most of my time out of state, so cleaned up the house and sold most of the cars. I have three left that I could easily store in garages while the house was rented out. Now its time to sell the house, and I need to either move or sell the cars. I don’t mind keeping them but the move will be easier if I sell them. I have not had access to them for a few years, so I can only tell you their status when I was last involved with them. I am primarily focused on selling the house, so even now, I don’t have access to the cars until Nov 1, and I don’t have time to mess around with them. They will be available to see on Nov 2 and Nov 3, by appointment. Because the house is for sale, I have to adhere to strict payment and move out procedures.
