E39 generation of 5-Series was a pinnacle for the “old” BMW – overdeveloped and overbuilt by enthusiast engineers for enthusiast drivers. And it applies to the whole E39 range. While the M5s and 540-6s seem to attract all the attention, the 530i, especially dressed in this full-feature M-Tech package, occupies the sweet spot in the range. It gives all the E39 thrills - but will not bite as hard on your wallet. And this 530iA is one truly unique car. It has ultra-low mileage – 59,000 kms (~37,000 miles). It has never seen snow in its entire life and the underbody condition is amazing. The mechanic who performed the out of province inspection for me was about to cry, admitting he never saw an E39 which is this clean. The paint finish is pristine, no stone chips, no scratches or dents, the engine looks like it has barely worked before. As well, the car drives like new. No looseness anywhere, no wind noise, everything feeling off-the-assembly-line tight and crisp. Other features unique for North American market is the Euro dash, Euro external mirrors and cloth M-Tech interior, that has never been offered here. It feels very comfy both in hot and cold days and grips you much better than a leather seat. This BMW is basically a Euro spec, with metric speed, distance and temperature readouts. The full spec sheet is in the photo gallery. The Navi-TV-trip computer head unit “speaks” both English and Japanese (currently set in English). I performed some basic maintenance – Amsoil 5-30 SS engine oil, engine and cabin filters, spark plugs. ATF condition is perfect – bright red and clear, the transmission shifts flawlessly. Suspension and other engine systems do not require any immediate attention or service. The car comes with two keys, complete set of books in Japanese language and some records from very detailed and rigorous Japanese annual state technical inspections (shaken). The navigation only has the Japanese DVD, so I cannot say how well it works here. The vehicle is registered and insured in Calgary, AB, Canada and is fully road-legal. If you fly in to pick up the car I can meet you at the Calgary airport. I can also store the vehicle in my garage for a reasonable duration of time while you arrange pickup - free of charge. The buyer is responsible for determining whether the vehicle is importable into the US. This BMW is advertised on other resources.
