This one of a kind car hauler started life in South Carolina as a fully optioned example of about the biggest pickup truck you could buy in 1986. Someone with very large... um, balances put a total of $90,000 into this build. This person obviously wanted to travel the South in style, checking off all these boxes on the build order sheet: 77D LEE1 Burgundy Custom Captain's Lounge Chairs 19U 19 Midnight Black SO Body Paint B32 Front Color Keyed Floor Mats (replaced) A28 Sliding Rear Window A01 Tinted Glass – All Windows AS3 Crew Cab Equipment DF2 External Camper Mirrors C60 Air Conditioning CD4 Interval Wiper System B93 Door Edge Guard Moldings K34 Electronic Speed Control KC4 Auxiliary Engine Oil Cooling System GT4 Rear Axle – 3.73 Ratio E63 Fleetside Body (removed) N33 Comfortilt Steering NL2 Auxiliary Fuel Tank MX1 TH400 Automatic Transmission LE8 7.4 Litre V8 Gasoline Engine TT5 Halogen Hi-Beam Headlights TP2 Auxiliary Battery R05 Dual Rear Wheels N41 Power Steering UM6 Electronic Tuned AM-FM Cassette (now aftermarket CD) UF2 Cargo Area Lamp UA1 Heavy Duty Battery YE9 Silverado Equipment XPF 7.50-16/D Tires V42 Chromed Rear Step Bumper (removed) V02 Heavy Duty Radiator and Transmission Cooler Z81 Basic Camper Spec ZY1 Solid Paint ZQ2 Operating Convenience Lights ZPF 7.50-16/D Tires A strong, low profile frame extension and corrugated steel slant bed deck was added from new, which today still provides a quiet, safe and balanced hauling platform. The Warn 9,000 pound winch is as fast as strong. The angle iron ramps support big cars and tuck neatly away underneath when traveling. There were a couple of names and numbers ghosted on the side panels of previous owners, but the history of the vehicle is mostly unknown. The vehicle was imported to Saskatchewan around 2013, then purchased by the current owners last year. In that short time about 9000 miles have been added to the current 91000 total. The truck has been a true workhouse, never failing to get up in the morning or failing to arrive at the expected destination. Given the deep captain's chairs and power options, this is vintage luxury hauling at its best. The engine and powertrain look to be original with no modifications – starts and runs fine + or – 35 C. The original paint is faded on topside but provides a nice patina that has survived thus far. The doors, fenders and cab corners have no signs of rust. The interior is good for the age, could use a refresh - cracked dash pad; the original carpet is worn but no holes; driver's seat has small hole; power door locks don't all unlock from driver's door; rear power windows are slow. The ramp top has been recently covered with a protective grip coating; the ramp sides had any signs of surface rust ground down and repainted with high wear paint. Four locking storage cabinets maximize the space under each side of the ramp. Basic tools and car straps are included to get started on the hauling - it's ready for work.
