Classic one year only model 3100 Chevrolet pick up truck!

This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 series truck is a dry, complete, California native that belonged to a well know Los Angeles classic car repair service and mechanic named Frank. Before Frank bought this truck to use as his shop truck, it was owned by the original owner in Glendale California for nearly 50 years! The truck is rust free and solid and straight beyond belief!

The truck has been made to be a reliable driver with all sorted mechanicals, brakes and electrical. Frank installed new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, lines and shoes and bearings and turned the drums. The 4-speed manual transmission has been serviced (torque-tube transmission was replaced with an original low mileage one, sourced and shipped from Georgia at considerable $$$) as well as differential. The reliability of the 235 inline-6 has been improved with a new alternator and full flow air filter.

In addition, several months ago I replaced the carburetor with a $500.00 new Holley 4 barrel unit, which complements the header system and allows very zippy performance and ability to enhance the stock (sleeper) engine to go in speeds in excess of 80 mph! (Yet it gets great gas mileage!)

The uncut steel dash contains the original gauges that were rebuilt and halogen lights used for extra brightness on gauges and they work perfectly (fuel, temp, press & amps). In addition, head lights and tail light and flashers are newer exact replica reproduction units that also have halogen lights. All glass is good and un-cracked (except small crack on driver wind up window) and function as they should.

The body is amazingly solid and straight with no accident damage. The exterior paint work is a "rat rod" style done by a well-known Los Angeles area car painter and rat-rod guru so Frank's shop truck has a soulful, shop-truck vibe. It's a vintage piece of rolling mechanical art! In fact, Frank's shop works on a lot of well known celebrities like The Rock and Jessica Alba and the truck was always a favorite of clients.

The truck rides on newer bias-ply old school truck tires with original rims and hub caps with great patina! In fact the truck overall just has the coolest look and feel! I've had the truck on island for about 3 years and every time I take it out I get all kinds if smiles, honks and shakas! It truly runs awesome, and recent work set me back over 4k.

The truck was named "Jethro" by my good paddle boarding buddy (the truck handles surfing, paddling boarding trips as well as dump runs and work chores and long trips up country or to Kona with ease!). He named it 'Jethro' as the truck reminded him of the Beverly Hillbilly TV show! There's even a collectible Jethro bubblegum card on the dash in a special plastic housing with a magnet to hold him in place! Love it!!!

Only reason I am selling (as well as a 1980 Chevrolet C10) is to fund the purchase of a 1955 original Chevy on the mainland that I want to ship here. Jethro has been an incredible truck, but it's time to move on!

HAGGERTY vintage car values has the rare one year only 1954 model truck valued at:

Good: $22,200.00 Excellent: $33,700.00 Concours: $51,200.00

Given Jethro is such a solid truck, with low original miles, lots of upgrades and modern carb, mechanics, etc. he's above average/good in every way. He does have patina, but wears it with pride! Such a rare year and solid example will continue to appreciate over time.Vintage Chevy trucks have consistently been top performers in the classic car world for a number of years, and one suspects this trend will continue.

An enjoyable, vintage patina truck that works 100% and runs with loads of extra power and is one of a kind = PRICELESS!

Please, no lowball offer requests or dumb trades----I won't consider swapping for your ex-wife and her alimony payment or a derelict motorcycle missing two wheels. Be respectful!
This truck can be shipped to the West Coast for between $1,100.00 -$1.4000.00 *Long Beach, Oakland via Matson or San Diego via Pasha. Also, Washington state, etc. I will can assist with shipping, it's very easy---takes 2 weeks max for delivery.
